DIY Gift: Science Kit for Kids! (with FREE download!!)

This is fantastic!  Seriously, I have been super excited to share this with you ever since I had the idea!  What is it?  A DIY Science Kit for Kids!  It would make a wonderful gift or a mini science unit!

How does it work?  It is so simple!  You just print off this set of Science Project cards, cut them in half, laminate them if you want (totally optional!), gather up the 25 supply items (many of them only cost 20-40 cents!), package them all together, and... ta da!  Instant science kit!

I picked ten activities that are loads of fun for preschoolers AND that elementary aged kiddos could probably do on their own.  ALL activities should always be supervised by an adult!  I also chose activities that had common supplies, so the kit is easy to put together and inexpensive to get your little one experimenting happily!

Each science card has an experiment title, supply list, step by step instructions, a brief summary of the science involved, and (of course!) a picture!

I'm going to share the science project titles here and the master supply list, though both are included in the printable file.  Let me know if you have any questions!!

Science Projects in the DIY Science Kit:

1- Marshmallow Tower Challenge (save a toothpick for #4)
2- Optical Illusions
3- No Blow Balloon
4- Magic Milk
5- DIY Lava Lamp
6- Mentos Geyser
7- Leak-Proof Bag (save a pencil for #2)
8- Coin Stack Challenge
9- Magnetic Car Challenge
10- Slime

Master Supply List:

You need to gather these 25 items, and you'll have everything you need all in one spot!

What size container do all of these fit in? Like the idea!
Hi Janell! It depends a lot on you! If you pre-measure the borax into a plastic baggie and use small containers of dish soap and marshmallows, you could probably fit it all into a large shoebox sized Sterilite container (I like the snapping lids personally!). If you don't want to be limited by space, you can easily put large containers of everything into a small laundry basket and wrap it with a big ribbon!
