{FREE} Easy Emergent Reader: Counting Pumpkins

Are you looking for a pumpkin themed easy emergent reader that your beginning reader can read, color, and write in? How about an easy reader that you can use across your curriculum? Then this is the freebie for you!

This little mini book can be used for reading, writing, math, and fine motor practice! Here are a few ways you can use it...what else do you do with these emergent readers?

Suggestions to use this mini book:

Preschoolers:

* Count the pumpkins on each page
* Identify the number as you write it in
* (optionally) Write or trace the number of pumpkins on each page
* "Read" the book (most kiddos will memorize it quickly)
* Color the pumpkins and add any other details to the scenes you want

Kindergarteners/1st Graders:

* Count the pumpkins on each page
* Imagine each pumpkin represents 5, 10, or 100 pumpkins. Now count them!
* Write the numers of pumpkins on each page
* Read the book (these kiddos will memorize it quickly too)
* Identify words that rhyme with "see"
* Color the pumpkins and add any other details to the scenes you want
