Mud Pit Chip Dip - A Yummy Farm Theme Snack

Do your kids like to play with their food? Then they will love this book-based snack! Today the Virtual Book Club for Kids is reading The Little Blue Truck and studying farms! We are sharing a super fun Mud Pit Chip Dip that your kiddos can help you make or that you can prepare as a surprise for your farm theme!

In The Little Blue Truck (image below is an Amazon affiliate link), two trucks get stuck in a mud pit.

You and your kiddos can make your own delicious mud pit with the following

Simple Supplies:

microwaveable dish, refried beans, mild salsa, cheese, seasoned salt and taco seasoning

Easy How to:

1- Mix refried beans, salsa, cheese, and spices to taste. I have one child who does not like spicy food at all, so we only put in about 1/4 cup of mild salsa with 2 cans of beans and about 1/2 cup cheese. This is a very flexible mud pit recipe!

2- Microwave it until it is heated throughout. We usually put a 9 inch square glass pan in the microwave for about two minutes. You can stir it when it is done to be sure it is heated evenly.

3- Serve with chips, trucks, and farm animals! You can even act out the story with your edible mud! Be sure to clean any toys you use first!
