Slime Recipes ~ Fun & EASY Science Experiments
Slime recipes are fun science experiments for kids of all ages, from preschool to high school! Even adults enjoy watching the polymers cross-link and thicken "right before their eyes" with these great, gooey science projects.
Since I have a lot of slime recipes here at Preschool Powol Packets (and more scheduled to come) I decided to make a virtual bookshelf with my slime recipes! So, welcome to the collection!
My personal favorite slimes use borax, but I have a few slime recipes without borax too -- if that's what you're looking for, just scroll down to the right heading. :)
Safety Warning: Do not let your children eat slime or any of the ingredients! Children who may be sensitive to slime ingredients should wear gloves or play with the slime inside a plastic bag. If you have any questions, please consult your doctor.
Slime Recipes With Borax:
Sparkly Slime Science - This also contains a great explanation of the chemistry behind slime!
Brown Bear Slime - Perfect to go with your favorite bear stories!
Ghost Slime - Fun for Halloween...or any time!
Turkey Feathers Slime - You could actually make this to go with any bird theme!
Sparkly Apple Slime - This could totally double as watermelon slime too!
Slime Recipes Without Borax:
Just because they're borax-free doesn't mean you should eat them! Please see the warning above. Also, the "edible" recipes should not hurt if your child eats a small piece, but they are not food and do taste horrible. Also, if your child is allergic or sensitive to any of the ingredients, you may want to use a different recipe. Always talk to a doctor if you have questions.
We, however, love playing with these slimes! And I particularly like the fact that I know the "edible" slime recipes will not hurt my preschooler if she licks them.
My friend Sarah at Little Bins for Little Hands also has a fun collection of slime recipes with a different themed slime for each month of the year! You can check it out HERE!!
Do you have a favorite slime recipe that you use for science experiments? Is there one you're looking for? I always love to hear from you!! Feel free to send me an email, leave a comment, or stop by my Preschool Powol Packets Facebook page to share your slimy science projects!
Happy Educating,
Carla
I may share at any of these parties!
