Snowflake Swat is a fun snow themed letter learning game for preschoolers and kindergarteners that can easily be adapted for older kids too!
Here in Houston the only snow we have this year is what we make...or print! So, I made these letter snowflakes to practice identifying letters and sounds...inside a fun winter theme to go with this week's Virtual Book Club book: The Snowy Day.

Anyway, this game is so fun my older kids wanted in on it too, and luckily, it is super easy to adapt to all ages. For our preschoolers, we spread the letter snowflakes around and I called out a letter or sound. The kids used a flyswatter (don't worry...it's only for school time!) to swat the snowflake with the correct letter...and they loved it!
We also used it to work on spelling names.
For my older kids, we swatted sight words, spelling words, word families, and last letter sounds. (The letter snowflakes are a free printable you can get below, and I left four of the snowflakes blank so you can fill in anything you want!) If you don't have a flyswatter you can use any stick or paddle...or try one of the variations below!
