Christmas Science Experiments, Activities & Christmas STEM Activities & Challenges
One of my favorite ways to keep our kiddos engaged in school work during December is by adding in lots of Christmas Science Experiments and Activities and Christmas STEM Challenges and Science Projects.
We're getting a pretty big collection of Christmas Science Projects now, so I thought it was time to put them all in one place! I'm listing the science activities first, and then the STEM activities, challenges, and projects.
Christmas Science Experiments & Activities:
Build a Sparkly Erupting Christmas Tree!
Play in some Candy Cane Slime!
Bend a candy cane into all sorts of crazy shapes with this experiment!
Make some Fizzing Candy Cane Eruptions!
Decorate a Science Themed Christmas Tree!
Test two different reactants to find out which makes the best fizzing Christmas stars!
Fill "Santa's Bag" as full as you can with this experiment!
Discover what a candy cane is made from with this experiment!
Christmas STEM & STEAM Activities, Challenges, & Projects:
Each of these STEM activities, challenges, and projects incorporates 4 subject areas: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Many of them also include a 5th subject: art (STEAM). Projects that encompass more than one subject help your children learn and retain information and develop new skills more quickly than focusing on only one subject area at a time. These STEM projects also appeal to more kiddos because they include interests from so many subjects.
Use wrapping paper tubes to make a marble run with this STEM challenge!
Use ribbons and bells in this Chimes STEM Challenge!
Grab those wrapping paper tubes again to experiment with more physics with this STEM challenge!
Use extra tape from your wrapping supplies in a STEM Fingerprint Investigation!
Test your engineering skills with a Candy Cane Bridge STEM Challenge!
