June is National Safety Month , so today I am sharing a fun, free board game for kids (that reviews important safety habits) and some great courses from ChildCare Education Institute about safety outdoors and during transportation! Free Printable Game To The Playground! is a board game that you can print and glue onto a file folder! It's the perfect size to put on one side of the folder with the rules on the other side. I recommend stapling a ziplock baggie to the folder so that you can keep the cards attached to the game! You will also want to grab a die and pop that in the baggie too! This fun printable Roll a Bug game is perfect for ladybug-loving preschoolers who are learning to recognize colors, match, and count! This game works for two or more players! There are four "jars" (gameboards) in the file, so if you have more than four players, print additional sets! To play, you just take turns rolling the dice and filling up your jar! A couple years ago I started a tradition of sharing free printable activities you can do with your preschooler! They are always popular, so I imagine a lot of you like them. 😉 So, of course, I am happy to share some more with you this year! This one is sort of like a hidden picture, but you are counting Christmas trees! My preschooler old loves mermaids, so we played this Mermaids & Pirates game about 6 times in 4  days! It prints off easily on 2 sheets of paper and takes two players about 10 minutes play...the perfect length for short attention spans! Plus, it has mermaids and pirates! My 4-year old's favorite things in the world are mermaids, unicorns, rainbows, princesses, and Spiderman, so she called her mermaid "The Princess" and the game suddenly included two of her all-time favorite things! I love board games like this because they give kids a chance to practice counting, subitizing, a one-to-one correspondence, taking turns, and coping with winning and losing. Summer is here, and we just had our first beach trip in MONTHS!! (Honestly, almost a year!)  So, of course, I am excited to share this beach-themed matching game with you (for free)!!  The download link is below. Just print the page twice so you have nine pairs of identical images. Turn them all upside down, and take turns looking for matches!  My kids like to follow traditional "Memory" game rules: On your turn, you turn over two cards. If they match, you keep the cards and get another turn. If they don't match, turn them back upside down. Play until all matches are found. The player with the most matches wins! Or, if your kids are young enough to play without knowing who won, just celebrate the pictures each person collected!
