Inspired by Dr. Seuss Science Experiments and Activities ~ The Ultimate Collection!!

The first "Dr. Seuss Activity" I ever wrote about was this wonderful, ooey, gooey "oobleck" we did that science experiment to go with the book Bartholomew and the Oobleck. We first did that science project five years ago, and we still love to make it!

We like to combine Dr. Seuss party ideas with educational Dr. Seuss activities during the first week of March for Read Across America Day. I consider "Dr. Seuss Activities" to be anything inspired by a Dr. Seuss book that our preschoolers will love! I also like to stop by the dollar shelf at Target and get Dr. Seuss themed erasers, pencils, plates, and other manipulatives to use and give away during that first week in March.

Aaaaand, since Dr. Seuss's birthday is on March 2nd, I wanted to make a HUGE collection of activities inspired by his books that my kids can choose from!

"Dr. Seuss" was born Theodor Seuss Geisel on March 2, 1904. He wrote more than 60 books, mostly for children. His famous Cat in the Hat was published in 1957, and written after Dr. Seuss was challenged by a friend in the publishing business to create an entertaining primer for early readers. Seussville has much more information about Dr. Seuss and his books, as well as some super fun, interactive games and activities!

If you've been around for a while you know that I recommend reading a book with your preschoolers and doing a related activity during "school time." (HEEP, my preschool curriculum, is based on this model!) Since we are always looking for new Dr. Seuss Activities to go with our favorite books, I thought you might be interested as well!

I am grouping the activities by subject, so there will be a heading for Science, Math, Language & Literacy, Arts & Crafts, and Food. Feel free to scroll down to whichever topic you're most interested in!

At the end I will also include Amazon affiliate links to all the books these activities go with!
